BlackChav-WhiteCoon
The Idea
A collaboration between BlackChav and WhiteCoon – Michael Mayhew and Michael Barnes-Wynters – two men, same name, same age, one white, one black – exploring the dynamics of their inter-racial friendship, asking where they should not be seen together to create a road journey through myths and assumptions about black and white.
Mayhew and Barnes-Wynters work with Suhail Khan as another BlackChav.
Status
Currently in research and development stage, with public works performed.
BlackChav-WhiteCoon Tea Party will be on March 1st (see site for details).
Funded by Arts Council England, performance to be created for touring Autumn 2007.
